Don’t Miss Linn’s “Summer Time Fun” Picnic!

Join the Linn Post & Pipe team for some fun at Linn’s “Summer Time Fun” Picnic on July 8th and 9th. A food and beer garden will be open both nights alongside tunes from DJ Dusty Bonar. There are plenty of activities that can spark the interest of anyone attending. 

For the sports enthusiasts, there’s a corn hole and co-ed softball tournaments, a 5K run/walk and the demolition derby. The more laidback residents can enjoy the vendor fair, free swimming, the parade, a garden tractor show and derby bingo. Foodies will find plenty to eat at Saturday morning’s breakfast and a German meal for lunch. Kids can also participate in the youth fishing tournament, bounce houses and a fireworks show with the whole family. As a bonus, all the proceeds of the “Summer Time Fun” picnic will be put toward city park improvements. Friday, July 8th “Summer Time Fun” Activities

To kick off the Summer Time Fun festivities, two events begin on Friday, July 8th. The Corn Hole Tournament starts at 6:30pm with registration beginning at 6:00pm. It takes place on the basketball court and costs $30 per team. The Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament also begins at 6:30pm. The games will be played on the North Ball Diamond and it costs $200 per team to participate. They will continue playing games on Saturday morning at 8:00am on the same fields.

Saturday, July 9th Activities

The day starts at 7:00am with the “Summer Time Fun” 5K Run/Walk. There will also be a breakfast at the same time in the East Shelter House. The Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament continues at 8:00am. From 9:00am through 10:30am the Youth Fishing Tournament takes place. Also at 9:00am starts the Garden Tractor and Tractor Show which runs all day. Vendor Fair runs from 10:00am through 1:00pm with the German Meal ready to curb hunger at 11:00am. From noon through 4:00pm swim at the city pool before the “Summer Time Fun” parade begins at 5:00pm. Bounce Houses are open from 5:30pm through 10:00pm in the city park. Residents can play Chicken @#$% Bingo during the Demolition Derby which begins at 7:00pm. Finally, end the festivities at dark with a fireworks show.
